Updates from Principal Nelson: Nov. 20

Updates from Principal Nelson: Nov. 20

Greetings Woodland Families,

The switch to full-time Distance Learning begins this Monday, Nov. 23rd. It intersects with Governor Walz’s new restrictions.  None of this is ideal, but the impacts of this virus continue to be very real. Every day my wife, who is a registered nurse, sees the overwhelming effects of the virus in the hospital where she works. Parents and families are under strain to balance their work, school, and home lives. Educators and school staff, all of whom are under the same strains within their families, are working tirelessly to educate children using a variety of formats. All this said, I believe we ultimately will rally and partner together. I have faith that these tighter restrictions, new therapeutics and treatment, and the coming promise of a vaccine will, together, allow us to safely return to a more traditional environment in the weeks and months to come.

If you did not have a chance to read my page in the December newsletter, please take the time to read it. It tells you what you can expect during distance learning, what you can do, and how we plan to support your children. You can view all of our monthly Woodland newsletters here.

Friday Communication

After Thanksgiving, I plan to send updates in a variety of formats to you each Friday.  The message will be the same, no matter the format. My apologies for the redundancy, but different people prefer different forms of communication.

As always, if you need help or if you have any concerns, questions, or suggestions, please email me or reply directly to any text that you receive from me.

Please continue to stay safe and healthy, and have a Happy Thanksgiving.

Best,

Rob Nelson, Principal
