Update from Principal Nelson: Oct. 30

Update from Principal Nelson: Oct. 30

Greetings, Woodland Families,

I hope this message finds you well. A few brief updates as we end the last week of October.

Secondary Schools Model Change

  • Superintendent McIntyre sent out an important message earlier today.  Due to increased virus activity in our communities and based on the recommendations from the Minnesota Department of Education, Middle Schools and High Schools in District 279 will transition to full distance learning beginning Monday, November 9th.  Woodland Elementary and all other elementary buildings will remain in our current Hybrid instructional model.  Please read his email for more details.

Next Week

  • REMINDER: There is no school (in-person or at-home) on Tuesday, November 3rd. (You may be interested to know that as the year progresses the number of "no school" days very closely balances out between Group A and Group B students.)
  • Picture Day for Group A is next Wednesday, November 4th.  Information will go home on Monday.
  • Picture Day for Group B is next Thursday, November 5th.  Information went home in backpacks yesterday.

Fun Run Update

  • Again, a huge thank you to everyone for helping meet our goal of $15,000 this fall.
  • The Run of Champions for students will occur on November 9th and 10th.
  • As a result of our school meeting our goal, I will be eating crickets on November 9th and 10th as well. We'll be sure to get some good pictures and share them out!

Have a safe Halloween weekend!

Rob Nelson, Principal
